Join us September 21st as we gather together to raise funds for urgent needs in the city of SLO! ![]() ![]() ![]() NEEDS MET IN AUGUST 2025 8/22/2025 Five nights in a hotel and laundry money for an elderly woman with a two-year-old. She is on the waitlist for shelter housing but needed a safe place to sleep in the interim. Referral from Grecia Nunez with San Luis Obispo County Public Health ($583). 8/22/2025 PG&E payment to turn the electricity back on for a father and his child. He had a serious job-related injury which forced him to stop work, and he is currently in a legal battle for disability. Referral from Ian Kizanis, People’s Self-Help Housing ($382.31). 8/21/25 Partial childcare expenses so a single mother is able to register for classes at Cal Poly. Referral from Courtney Moore from Cal Poly Students with Dependents ($600). 8/19/25 Portable air conditioner for an elderly patient with bladder cancer. He is very uncomfortable and the AC will help improve his quality of life. Referral from Ashley Hahn at Hearst Cancer Resource Center ($488.27). 8/15/25 Phone bill payment and gas card for mother of two on maternity leave. She needs the gas to be able to help her children. Referral from Adrian Candido with the Department of Social Services Child Welfare ($450.09).
8/14/25 Clothing and shoes for a family in need. Referral from Heather Minnoch at SLO City Church ($250). 8/14/25 Funds to pack and move belongings out of a rental and into a storage facility for a woman with a disability who has to move into a temporary shelter. Referral from Jamie Moothart from Access Central Coast ($600). 8/11/25 Partial rent for a cancer patient and her son who recently moved into low-income housing Referral from Ashley Hahn at Hearst Cancer Resource Center ($561). 08/11/25 Partial rent for a woman who had to unexpectedly juggle emergency dental work and unexpected car repairs. Referral from Rick Gulino at People’s Self-Help Housing ($441.87). 8/11/25 Scrubs, socks, underwear, and hygiene supplies for newly employed unhoused woman. Referral from Denise Casillas at the County of San Luis Obispo ($300). 8/7/25 Partial rent assistance for a newly housed single father and his child. There was a glitch in his promised aid and our funding is helping him secure the rental so he can make future payments. Referral from Carmen Gaitan with Access Central Coast ($600). 8/5/25 Birth certificate for newly housed woman on an extremely limited income. Her apartment required it for her to complete her lease and stay housed. Referral from Ian Kizanis with People’s Self-Help Housing ($65.95). 8/7/25 Set of tires for elderly woman who needs go to medical appointments out of town. Referral from Chris Kertzman from People’s Self-Help Housing ($500). 8/1/25 Partial down payment for an unhoused family to be able to secure housing. Referral from Maribel Chavez, CL Smith Elementary ($600).
